Who we are
Hi, I’m Shelly, the matriarch in the powerchair, with my husband Steve standing proudly behind me. We met while serving in the US Navy at Naval Air Station in Norfolk, VA, and married in 1986. After years of service, I’ve retired as a public school administrator, while Steve has retired as a software project manager. Together, we’ve raised two wonderful children, who are pictured here with their families.
My daughter Lacey, on the right, and Blythe, my daughter-in-law on the left, are the creative minds behind Goat House Market. They carefully research, select, and test each ingredient to ensure top quality and effectiveness in everything we offer.
We are passionate about sourcing local, naturally grown products and prioritize small, women- or family-owned businesses. Sustainability is important to us, which is why we use recyclable packaging and repurpose materials when we can. For example, the hand-crafted seed paper is often made from my grandkids’ schoolwork! The only exception is the plastic spray tops— we’re still on the lookout for a sustainable alternative.
We’re a close-knit crew, and soon my mom will be joining us too. We feel incredibly blessed and take our responsibility to serve the community and create opportunities for others to heart.
